Harrogate Pythons 1st XV vs Wath Upon Dearne RUFC

Saturday 21st March 2026 – KO 3:00pm

RFU Northern Division Counties 1 Yorkshire

Welcome to Wath Upon Dearne RUFC’s players, supporters and Committee Members for the second time our clubs have met this season   Earlier in the season The Pythons visited Wath and lost in a hard fought game 41-16.  In their last league fixture Wath beat Leodiensian 9-76 and remain top of the table.    The Pythons were beaten at home by in form Rishworthian  22-41 leaving us in 9th place in the league of 12.

Welcome to Fraser Dunlop, Harrogate Round Table Chair, and his guests to our pre match lunch .   Fraser sits on our committee as Commercial Chair. Welcome too to Charlotte and Maisy with their families supporting Ben Pryor and Hugh Tatlow, Jon Butler and Heidi are here hoping Harry Butler adds to his try tally.

Our referee for today, Phil Gordge – his second trip to The Jim Saynor Ground having referred our home game against Dinnington at the end of February.

The league table is currently stacked in the mid section with 17 points separating 6 teams.  With the possibility of 3 teams going down this season every point is valuable.  Thanks to our great coaching team we’re applying the lessons learned and things are  beginning to come together, let’s hope for a positive conclusion to the end of the season.

Dates for your diary – we will be enjoying our last pre match luncheon  18th April against Keighley which will double as a Ladies Day.   We’re holding a ‘Lunch With……….’ Jason Robinson at William & Victorias on 23rd April, Annual Golf Day on 18th June at Oakdale Golf Club and our Annual Dinner on 15th October with Chris Ashton speaking – see our web site for more details.

With a bit of luck the weather holds fair and we’ll enjoy the game.  Best of luck to both sides.
