Saturday 14th March 2026 – KO 3:00pm
RFU Northern Division Counties 1 Yorkshire
Welcome to Old Rishworthian RUFC’s players, supporters and Committee Members for the third attempt to play our home fixture following postponements due to the weather Earlier in the season The Pythons visited Rishworth and lost 29-25 in a closely contested game. In their last league fixture Rishworth drew with Wensleydale 34-34 at Wensleydale, leaving them 7th in the table. The Pythons were beaten away by Goole 38-26 gaining 1 try bonus point leaving us 9th in the table.
Welcome back to our referee Brian Brocksom.
This is our third season in Counties 1. Last season was better and the guys put up some great performances finishing 8th in the table. The table is currently stacked in the mid section with few points separating 6 teams. With the possibility of 3 teams going down this season every point is valuable. Thanks to our great coaching team we’re applying the lessons learned and things are beginning to come together, let’s hope for a positive conclusion to the end of the season.
Dates for your diary – we will be enjoying pre match lunches on 21st March against Wath and 18th April against Keighley. We’re holding a ‘Lunch With……….’ Jason Robinson at William&Victorias on 23rd April, Annual Golf Day on 18th June at Oakdale Golf Club and our Annual Dinner on 15th October with Chris Ashton speaking – see our web site for more details.
With a bit of luck the weather holds fair and we’ll enjoy the game. Best of luck to both sides.
