Pythons 2’s welcomed Richmondshire to JSG for their 1st ever Yorkshire Counties 4 league game.
With a number of new players playing together for the first time Pythons 2’s struggled early on against the Richmond side. Their big runners were defended heroically with Eddy Wilkinson and Russty to the fore. With Pythons 2s pressing Richmond scored a breakout try to make it 0-7. Pythons 2s responded with Nick Bell causing problems but a line break from Richmond led to another try under the posts to make the half time score 0-14.

Pythons 2s started to gel and improved vasty in the 2nd half. Liam Cockayne finished a flowing move in the corner to bring the score back to 5-14. Following a lineout Josh Horrocks made a line break to score under the posts which Ben Pye converted. 10-14. Richmond then went straight up the pitch from kick off and a missed tackle saw them score under the posts. 12-21. Pythons 2’s had the last word when Marcel Kaminski crashed over to make the final score Pythons 2s 17 Richmondshire 21. Great to see all the new players Lewis Gibson, Dylan Mills, Haydn Walters, Daniel Brown and Aadil Karim and good to see Nathan Wake and Ben Pye back after long term injuries.
