Harrogate Pythons 1st XV vs Keighley RUFC

Saturday 18th April 2026 – KO 3:00pm

RFU Northern Division Counties 1 Yorkshire

Welcome to Keighley RUFC’s players, supporters and Committee Members for the second time our clubs have met this season   Earlier in the season The Pythons visited Keighley and despite leading at half time lost the game 43-19.   In their last league fixture Keighley lost to league leaders Wath 19-24 leaving them 6th in the table.   The Pythons were beaten away at Hullensians 27-24 and remain in 9th place in the league of 12.

Welcome back to former player Calum Brock who has invited a number of players and former players to our pre match lunch.  Good to see them all again – I suspect most of them still look capable of pulling on a pair of boots!!  Welcome too to our Ladies enjoying their ‘Ladies Day’ – plenty of prosecco during the game, enjoy.

Our referee for today, Andy Williamson – his first trip to The Jim Saynor Ground .

The league table is currently stacked in the mid section with 14 points separating 5 teams.  With the possibility of 3 teams going down this season every point is valuable.  Thanks to our great coaching team we’re applying the lessons learned and things are  beginning to come together, let’s hope for a positive conclusion to the end of the season.

Dates for your diary – we’re holding a ‘Lunch With……….’ Jason Robinson at William & Victorias on 23rd April, Annual Golf Day on 18th June at Oakdale Golf Club and our Annual Dinner on 15th October with Chris Ashton speaking – see our web site for more details.

With a bit of luck the weather holds fair and we’ll enjoy the game.  Best of luck to both sides.
