Saturday 28th February 2026 – KO 2:15pm
RFU Northern Division Counties 1 Yorkshire
Welcome to Dinnington RUFC’s players, supporters and Committee Members for the only the second time our clubs have met. Earlier in the season The Pythons visited Dinnington and lost 54-36 in a closely contested game. In their last league fixture Dinnington was beaten by Wath 13-14 , at home – this was only their second league defeat. The Pythons were beaten away by Beverley 27-22. We gained 2 league points leaving us 7th in the table. Following last week’s results we dropped two places to 9th.
Welcome to Andy Taylor, PDS Group, and his guests to our pre match lunch. Andy has always been a great rugby supporter and club sponsor – enjoy the game. Welcome too to our referee for today, Phil Gordge – I think his first trip to The Jim Saynor Ground.
Congratulation Marcus Fotherby on your 150th appearance for our club. Sponsored by MHM Pension Services Ltd, Marcus continues to be an influential player – well done Marcus, here’s to the next 150!
This is our third season in Counties 1. Last season was better and the guys put up some great performances finishing 8th in the table. The table is currently stacked in the mid section with few points separating 6 teams. With the possibility of 3 teams going down this season every point is valuable. Thanks to our great coaching team we’re applying the lessons learned and things are beginning to come together, let’s hope for a positive conclusion to the end of the season.
With a bit of luck the weather holds fair and we’ll enjoy the game. Best of luck to both sides.
